Need Advice on Child Hitting Others

I'm a new preschool teacher at a daycare and I need some advice. I'm having a problem with one of my students. He is constantly hitting the other children in the class and I don't know how to make him stop. I would love to hear how other teachers handle this kind of situation. Thank you!

First of all, I'm glad you posted your question here. I know that many other teachers (and parents for that matter) have the same issue.
