YOUR Ideas and Suggestions Wanted! divider A Fond Farewell and Hello!

I am very excited to “meet” and get to know you all! The Preschool Professor has, under Lindy’s hard work and dedication, become a wonderful resource for teachers and parents of preschoolers. As a preschool teacher myself (and, at one time, my daughter’s preschool teacher as well!), I appreciate all of the information she has provided over the years!

It is my pleasure to announce to you that I have become the new Preschool Professor! But first, here are a few very heartfelt words from Lindy:

To my fellow teachers and parents:

It has been an extraordinary privilege to develop The Preschool Professor. I put every ounce of myself into creating this site to share my passion for preschool education. So many of you have reached out to me and all of your emails, comments, and submissions have let me know that there are so many others that have that same passion. It has been my honor to have worked with you for the past 5 years, but it has now become time for me to move on.

The Preschool Professor will have a new owner and developer now - Cheryl Hatch from Preschool Plan It. She and I have been working on the smooth transition of the site and I have no doubt that it is in the best hands possible. She shares the same passion for preschool education and with her knowledge and background, I know that this site will continue to be as informative, helpful, and provide support to so many more.

I am grateful to my devoted followers and visitors and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to come along on your journeys in education.

Lindy McLean

Well, Lindy--I am excited, grateful and humbled that you has chosen me to take over the reigns of this wonderful site and continue providing helpful resources for everyone! divider Meet the New Preschool Professor

Please allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is Cheryl Hatch, and I have been a preschool teacher and director in both Christian and secular preschool programs for twenty years.

I started working with preschoolers when I first entered college for Early Childhood Education. My plan was to earn my undergrad degree in Early Childhood and then work on my elementary education degree to teach 1-3rd grades.

Well, after working with preschoolers, I was hooked! The preschool years are wonderful and magical years and we have such an amazing opportunity to help children grow and develop in these important years! I never looked back and continue to work with preschool aged children!

I have many years of experience developing websites that focus on preschool children. You can check them out by clicking the following links:

Preschool Plan It is a website dedicated to free preschool lesson plans, preschool themes and activities for those who work with preschoolers.

Preschool Director is a site dedicated to information, articles and information that specifically address the administrative duties that we all are responsible for in preschool programs.

This website, The Preschool Professor is well known for its helpful articles with the “how-to’s” of teaching, working with and raising preschoolers and together-you and I will continue to add resources and training articles that help you every day working with these wee ones! divider Holiday Themes

This newsletter, The Preschool Press, has been one that delivered a new theme each month. I have received several emails over the past week asking if there were any plans for Thanksgiving activities under the Holiday section as well as questions about the Christmas links and when activities might be added.

Rather than recreate the wheel, for now, let me direct you to the specific theme pages for those holidays already on Preschool Plan It:

The Thanksgiving Theme has over 30 free activities for you to use.

The Christmas Theme has even more free activities and lesson plans for you.

There is also a CHRISTIAN Christmas Theme with free activities as well. divider Plans for The Preschool Professor website in the Future!

You will see a few changes to the look of the pages as I become familiar with the format of the site, so please bear with me!

My plans are to build on, and add to, the great foundation Lindy has begun here!

What Do YOU Want to See Added?

In the meantime—what information or resources would you like to see added to the site? Let me know by hitting “reply” to this newsletter!

You can also contact me with any suggestions, ideas or questions by CLICKING HERE! divider I consider myself blessed and fortunate to be the person that Lindy has placed her confidence in to continue to grow this website. Thank you Lindy for that opportunity to do so.

My hope is that you will find the information in each upcoming newsletter helpful to YOU- the Early Childhood Educator and/or parent- as you work with this wonderful group of children called Preschoolers!

With Great enthusiasm and excitement,

Until Next Time,

Cheryl
